Truckdoza Day 2005!

What a great way to start off the new year, working on the Truckdoza with my Dad! Jaime helped too. It was a great weekend.

Friday night began with some cleanup and painting of the new rebuilt pump from D&W Diesel in Albany.
Here's the secret code numbers for future reference.
Jaime helped.
At first she was a little timid, but she got into it pretty fast!
Here she is finished!
I have named her "Black Beauty"
Black like the color of Diesel Particulate Matter hahaha! Or used diesel motor oil.
My last meal of 2004 - A ham sandwich. This was taken at 11:57!
Shane celebrating the new year on his new bed.
Jaime wasn't feeling very celebretory the next morning.
She was busy being monk like.
And she didn't like having her photo taken either.
Black beauty ready to roll! Nice and dry and everything.
Before I started that though, I had to rob some parts off of the Sportruck engine, the glow plugs (only one season on them), and intermediate shaft pully.
The Truckdoza engine as it was left.
Me and my buss bar.
Glow plugs installed!
Buss bar installed!
Injectors installed!
I also touched up the tranny plate and some other ugly nuts and bolts with POR-15.
Injection pump bracket installed.
Injection pump, installed!
Dad adjusting the timing belt pully.
Adjusting...
Timed!
Ohhh yeah! The camshaft is installed also.
Doing the injection pump timing..
Inserting the guage...
Preloading...
Here's teh setting before we started, still too low.
We advanced the timing to top of spec, 1.02.
The finished product!
How exciting! Next week, it's injection lines, pullys, timing covers, alternator, compressor, and starter! This engine's really starting to come together!
