This was the front of the truckdoza 2 weeks ago. |
Here's my "Pile 'O' Fun" that Josh picked up for me. |
We started with the rear suspension, adding the Roger Brown "Add-A-Leaf"
kit. The installation was quite simple and took about 45 minutes per side.
One word - SPRAY WD-40 ON ALL YOUR U BOLTS FOR A WEEK BEFORE YOU START! |
We applied liberal amounts of copper never sieze to the leaf spring
so they hopefully don't make too much noise. |
You can also see the new rear shockers. |
4 leafs and new shocks! |
The other side. |
We then did the suspension in the front. Dad did this in an amazingly
short time. New springs, struts, inserts, and strut mounts. |
Yep. |
The front was done but we realized we had the wrong brake shoes, so
we left the truck like this for the time being. |
Oh yeah, and Dad picked up my new air compressor! 1949 Brunner, runs
great, just needs a non 3 phase motor. |
Correct brake shoes installed (this is the next week) |
New powdercoated drums installed. |
Then I took a brake and did a photoshoot with Shane! |
HI Shane! |
I have very rarely seen him sitting like this with his legs spread to
either side. |
He was being funny I guess. |
Baner! |
I tried to get him to look at me... |
To no avail. |
He was hamming it up though. |
See? |
Ruff! |
He's getting old, don't know how many more photo shoots we're going
to be able to do. |
So, I proceeded to finish putting the front end together (lights and
stuff!) |
It's starting to look like a truck again! We had some major pains with
getting the bumper to sit straight, as it turns out the frame is slightly
bent from a former accident. |
The back end sitting down with the new "stance". I think it
looks pretty awesome. It should ride real nice with the cap and accessories
added. |
Closeup of new stance. |
Dynomax muffler temporarily installed. |
The new tip sticking out. |
The new pipe vs a piece of copper tubing that was the old size. |
Here's a better comparison. |
Then we took a break and celebrated Grandma's birthday! |
Adam and Tara were there, |
As was Jaime and myself. |
We went to her house and hung out some more and did presents. |
Mary chillin' |
Grandma had a great time. |
The official birthday cake! |
It was a nice cake. |
Then we got back to work. This is Dad and Dave(Mary's Boyfriend) messing
with the exhaust pieces. Dave brought over some stainless steel tubing
so we could fabricate a new downpipe. |
Dave grinding the welds a bit. |
Griding. I have figured I love pictures of sparks. |
Dave demonstrating the old downpipe, and it's mungness. |
Dave illustrating the awesomeness of the new downpipe! |
Side by side comparison. As you can see, the new one is BIG! |
Diameter comparison. |
Downpipe installed. |
Oh yeah. |
Going down the mufflerage. |
Dynomax muffler. |
Monday we fabbed up a mount for some of my extra gauges. |
Getting ready to put the Truckdoza on the road! |
The title was printed on 9/11! |
