Antique Slide Show
I went to an Estate sale this one day and decided to buy this lot of old slides, well there were thousands of them. And in them was some amazing imagry. Colin and Christan came over and we had a slide viewing party. It was a great time. This is just a sampling, we viewed about 1/4 of the total stash.

| Kristen, who was an art history major volunteered to load the projector. Good thing too, because I was buzzed enough by the time that we started that I would have sucked at it. They have to go in there upside down and backwards. | |
| Look at that efficiency! | |
| Jamine was having a grand old time. Now on to the slides... | |
| For reference, all of these slides were from between 1957 and 1962. All from one family, who apparently liked to travel a lot. | |
| Kid on a horse? I mean pony. | |
| The Grand Canyon. It used to be very polluted back then. Look how clear it was the day Jaime and I were there HERE. It was still less than clear when we were there, but from what I read air quality is improving. | |
| We were there! | |
| A real nice cactus shot. | |
| Somewhere in Arizona I would imagine. | |
| North entrance to the white house. All of the trees are gone now for national security concerns. See the comparison HERE. | |
| The world's fair in New York City. Our old next door neighbor on Church St., supposedly was the horticulturist for the whole fair. Her name was Helen Bullard. This entire building is built like an engine! | |
| They made such strange structures. Look at how small the people are! | |
| Yellowstone lodge! Look at the cars in the parking lot, it's amazing! I only have one shot of it, but you can tell there are a lot more trees around it now. HERE | |
| Some town near yellowstone, I would imagine. | |
| We almost loaded this slide backwards because the water is so calm. This is the Grand Tetons. We saw them HERE. | |
| Yellowstone falls. Gorgeous. I think we may have been to the same spot, check it HERE, or at least close enough! | |
| The Mackinaw Bridge, another place Jaime and I went to. It must have just been completed when they took this shot. Here's our shot HERE | |
| Mount Rushmore, pretty much the same, but look at the treed HERE! They're a lot bigger! | |
| Gourmet Candle lit hamburger dinner. Perhaps Hamburgers were a bigger delicacy back then. | |
| This is perhaps my favorite shot. It feels so Norman Rockwell. Look at the lighting and the expression of the woman's face, the cigarette? So old fashioned. And all the junk in the room? She seems rooted there, for all eternity. Strange, and interesting. | |
| Someone's camp at Lake George. | |
| Devil's tower. Were were there too. See it HERE. It looks about the same BTW. | |
| Wedding back in the day. Interesting. | |
| Building a house. | |
| A digital photo of an old slide of an old picture. Interesting! | |
| The top of Giant Mountain back in the 60's! I was there too HERE and HERE | |
| Old school snow shoeing. All wool I bet. | |
| Great photo of a shed. | |
| Old fashioned ski slope. Look at the cars! | |
| People just don't use snow shoes to get around anymore. | |
| Big deer! | |
They don't make them like that too much anymore! That's it for the old photos. There are many more, I hope to post them someday. |
