Extreme Makeover Home Edition!

Extreme Makeover Home Edition came to town, and we were there!!!

Click on an image to view the larger version. Please note that these images were taken with a cell phone, clandestine style, so they may not be the best. But they do illustrate the amount of action we were involved with. We worked two shifts, Saturday from 6PM to 6AM, and Sunday 6PM to midnight. All of the progress in these photos happened during that time!

Jaime wearing her rockin' uniform. It rained quite a bit on Saturday night, but we had our Gore-Tex luckily!
I caught a cool shot of a crane dropping this smaller loader into "the pit" - where the foundation was from the old house. They demo'd the whole house in less than 6 hours!
More heavy machinery.
More trucks etc. They had the whole place lit up like a football field, it was bright as day outside!
Worksers in rain coats. They were starting to get the plumbing ready.
All of these white pipes sticking up are the plumbing that went under the slab. There are 4 1/2 bathrooms in the house!
Plumbers doing their thing.
The cement pumper has arrived (the big red thing) it's hard to tell the scale from this image, but it was like 60 feet tall.
One of the cement trucks. They had a total of 1200 tons of crushed stone (about 75 trucks full) and 10 cement trucks pour the slab.
Worksers finishing off the slab.
This photo was taken less than 12 hours after the one above! In the time we were gone, they framed the whole entire house!
As night progressed they began doing the heavy loading.
It didn't take too long for them to get all of the windows installed! This is the back of the house.
The stone crew showed up in this awesome ford F-650! I didn't even know they went higher than 350! Anyways, they were amongst the most efficient and organized crews I saw there.
The house is definately getting closer to completion.
The pool.
More work on the back of the house.
More windows and Tyvecking.
There were tons of cut-men all over the place, they definately kept busy!
The road. It was our job to keep the road clear so people could move vehicles around.
Not quite in order, the house from Jaime's cell phone.
I think this is one of the best shots. (Jaime took it), It was like an ant farm out there!
Concrete pumping.
During one of Jaime's breaks, she found an army dude sleeping! His friends didn't waste too much time and decided to play a mean joke on him!
They stacked stuff all over him, and then when he woke up, had quite a suprise.
The excavators in action!
Jaime's best friend, the 60,000 BTU salamder. If it weren't for this dude, she would not have made it through the shift alive!
Overall, it was a great experience. We're very lucky that we had "connections" to get us onto the set. It was amazing to see all of these professionals at the peak of their trades giving so much for this project. The goodwill and generosity on the site was awesome! I sincerely hope that the family that moves into this house thoroughly enjoys it for many years to come! This is a great demonstration of what people can do when they work together and set their minds to a task. I'm sure many people realized that they were pulling off something that may have seemed impossible just a few short weeks ago.
