Jasmine... she knows something's up.
So does Alex. He can sense when we're going ON VACATION!!!
A happy couple driving to North Carolina, in the Truckdoza.
Jaime doin stuff.
Happily, of course.
But, the weirdness sometimes rears its head...
We unfortunately had to drive through some serious rain!
This being just after Waterfest, I was bummed about the 40 hours of detailing being rained on, but then I was having so much fun just driving the Truckdoza that I was happy.
This is the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel. It's near 20 miles long, and contains about 4 miles of tunnel.
Pretty neat stuff.
Heading into the tunnel!
See, Chesapeake tunnel!
Our room was a sweet suite!
It even had granite countertops!
And a table!! Not bad for $129 per night.
Unpackin'
The bath area.
We didn't waste any time to get to the beach. The water was near 80 degrees, and the waves were hugezilla!
The beach had people there, but didn't feel crowded at all. I didn't even hit anybody with my awesome surfing action!
Beachness.
Beautiful skies....
Taking a breather from the crazy surf!
Gorgeous.
We retired to a nice game of scrabble. This is the board.
The Loser
The Winner!!!!
Moon.
We bought 1/4 pound hot dogs, they were awesome!!!
And we had corn!
And T-bone steak! This was a meal to remember!!!
I had to get a bottle coozie for the beach.
My Wife.
Getting sassy!
Trying to demonstrate how big the hot dog was!!!
Fork for scale, that shows it off better.
Dinner is served, that steak was F'n awesome!!
Next day at the beach...
You could see our hotel. It was about 100 feet from the beach over a small dune.
HUGE waves! They were over 10 feet high this day. One took me out and I twisted my back a little bit, hurt.
Waveness.
Another awesome sunset!
Nighttime.
Surf.
The next morning we watched the sun rise.

I was kinda tired!
Us. I was actually really happy but don't look like it here!
Sunski.
Sun..
Sun....
Pelicans
Pelicans flying in formation in front of the moon. I thought that was real neat.
Sun is up!
The path to the hotel.
Dune action.
More dune action.
We went to the aquarium after. This is a Gar.
The Gar with the flash on.
This eel had good camouflage, can you see it?
Lobster attack!!
A Blowfish.
A Lionfish!
Jaime liked these bushes!
Flowers everywhere!
Fish sculpture!
Driving...
We found this place called "Dirty Dicks Crab Shack" and their motto is "I got my crabs from dirty dicks. Hmmm."
We had some fun with the tablecloth. You'll notice the truckdoza and a crab there, complete with eye stalks!
We went to the Cape Hatteras lighthouse!
It was massive!
The barber pole thing is so that captains could identify the light house from a distance. Each one had its own distinct color and number of stripes.
Bigness.
The view was awesome!
The ocean was gorgeous!
Woods.
Ocean view.
Everything view.
Us view!
The parking lot. Can you find the Truckdoza? Also if you see hte kind of mowed down path to the right - they actually moved this lighthouse about 10 years ago in from the shore as it's being eroded! They moved it like 600 yards!
Viewness.
Usness.
Better shot of where they moved the lighthouse from, it would be underwater by now if they hadn't!
Mo' view.
What the stairs looked like inside the lighthouse.
Coming down. It was hot and sweaty in there, but no less than awesome.
Looking up at it.
The keepers station.
Bye lighthouse!
Next we went to the "secret beach" basically a free for all national seashore.
People were driving on it! They were spread out real far though!
Us on the beach!
Me and the Truckdoza enjoying the afternoon.
And Jaime, of course.
Driving through the dunes.
Dune-ness.
Ocean.
Enjoying the beach.
Sunset yet again.
Bummer, time to go home.
Oh well, at least we get to drive the Truckdoza! The ride home was pretty uneventful, hit some traffic in NJ. Amazingly, the Truckdoza broke down right after we got home. At least it happened in our driveway and not out on the road somewhere!
