Truckdoza - Operation Re-Awesome, Phase II
Progress continues on the Truckdoza. In 2008's first installment we start work on the improved forced induction system, and so some repair work inside the dashboard. Again, all work is being done at Inline Performance, a great shop run by great people!

| This is where we started from. Quite a far cry from where we started from last year! | |
| Dave getting a Dr. Pepper. | |
| He does not like it when you take photos of him while he's working. | |
| Bill's G60 motor kicking around the shop, probably pushing 300-350HP. Not bad for a 1.8L motor! | |
| The 'doza chillin' on the lift. | |
| First big project was to redo the intake manifold. This is the piece we started with. | |
| Intercooler that is going in the truck. The plan is to put it underneath the transmission and build a scoop to suck air up into it. | |
| Dave, trying his best to look badass. | |
| Marcus' car, which desperately needs some form of forced induction. | |
| Mary chillin' in the office. | |
| Dave saying goodbye to my original exhaust manifold. | |
| Going under the knife. We're cutting it in half and building a "log" style manifold that will facilitate better breathing on all the cylinders. | |
| The spoiler on this Subaru works great as a cup and sanwich holder. | |
| That's about all it does these days. | |
| It hasn't seen more than a subtle breeze in a few years. | |
| Bob demonstrating the effectiveness of this "breakfast bar" | |
| It is a nice looking salad bar, and very ergonomic too. | |
| The Dogs, Nikki and Gallagher. | |
| Manifold parts assembled. Basically we're extending the stock manifold up about 2 inches, and then attaching the round "log" on top of it. | |
| The 'doza still looking good. | |
| The interior before destruction! | |
| Dave built a 3" downpipe and exhaust system for a 2003 VW Beetle Turbo Z. | |
| These downpipes are up for sale if anyone is interested. | |
| Flange | |
| Flange | |
| Header wrapped and ready for action! | |
| The rest of the exhaust system. It had a real throaty sound to it. | |
| Other side. | |
| I had to replace the heater controls. This is the new one. | |
| Dave welding up the manifold. | |
| Lookin' Awesome. | |
| The dash after I got it all ripped apart. | |
| Making a mess. If you look down below you can see the "bling" I installed, green neon footwell lighting, it'll match all the gauge illumination. | |
| The other side. | |
| Wiring in the 4th switch. | |
| Ready to go! | |
| This duckbill spoiler will serve as the air dam for the intercooler. We will cut a hole in it and attach the intercooler scoop to it to suck air up into the intercooler underneath the transmission. | |
| Test fitting the new intake manifold. The new G60 valve cover is also in this shot. It will be polished to a mirror finish eventually. | |
| Side view of the manifold. | |
| Neon lights installed and tested. | |
| Bling! That's it for this installment! | |
Oh, by the way, this is why you should not let Dave play
