The Belly of the Beast!

Dave and I engaged in a ton of Truckdoza underbody cleaning and prep work today. Was fun, and dirty.

Taking off the Exhaust
Sun shone through the window on the floor, kind of neat looking.
Techtonics exhaust off the truck.
Exhaust.
Exhaust.
Dynomax muffler.
Trying out the new seating configuration in Bob's mustang.
Dave installed this sweet roll cage. Chromally, 12 point cage.
Sweet.
Morning glass of Diesel fuel.
Time to get cleaning. There was 28 years of dirt and grime on the underbelly of the Truckdoza.
Started the cleaning process.
Here's about what we started, it was greasy and nasty.
Up on the lift, totally gutted underneath.

Dave got the idea to use a paint sprayer with degreaser in it, worked very well, actually!
Mess!

The finished product, the undercoating was in excellent condition, with very little rusting. Any rust we did find was surface rust.

Schmung.
Fuel tank was dirty and had some surface rust, that'll be getting treated as well.
Blowing off the crud.
Us! We got totally covered in grime, but it was worth it.
New radiator and fan assembly. Low profile!
Engine bay, as it stands now. It's a mess! Doing a total wire tuck, Dave has some great ideas, I can't wait to see what we come up with!
Bed full of junk.
Underneath again.
All dried up now. Going to spray it all black tomorrow.
I can't believe how well it cleaned up.
Floor pans look good as well.
Fuel tank cleaned up, will be POR-15'd next week.
VW

Weird stamp on the fuel tank.

The end!
